After our daughter, Hannah, spent 3 months in a home daycare, that didn’t meet our expectations, we began searching for other alternatives. We searched for a childcare provider that would nurture Hannah during our work day. Someone that would love her, hold her when she cried, rock with her when she was sleepy, read to her, sing to her and play with her. We found someone that would do all those things and more when we met Karen McBride. We sensed her tenderness, love, and compassion for children right away. It was so evident that we knew Home Sweet Home Childcare Center was going to be Hannah’s home away from home. We brought Hannah to HSHCC in May of 1999, she was just 6 months old.

We have been so blessed to know Karen and her family. She brings fun, love and learning into each day. She also strives to keep the parents involved, as much as possible. When Hannah first started with HSHCC, Karen would document little things about Hannah’s day. For example, how much she ate, how long she slept, what books they read, etc. Now, she keeps us informed through e-mails, by posting an activity board, and sometimes phone calls. She is an exceptional teacher and offers an outstanding curriculum for the children. We are so impressed with Hannah’s development.

Above all, it’s the personal attention and the genuine love that makes this home daycare so special. We are also thankful that we can keep Hannah at Home Sweet Home Childcare Center for her preschool experience as well. With Karen’s teaching experience and a well-rounded curriculum, we are confident that Hannah will be completely prepared for kindergarten. Hannah has developed some treasured friendships at Karen’s. We are all looking forward to the fun, love and learning in the years ahead.
