Home Sweet Home Child Care: Your Child's Home Away From Home!

On this page you have the opportunity to in meet our staff.

Hi! My name is Kara and I am a 21 year old senior majoring in Agriculture Education at the University of Missouri. Family is very important to me and I enjoy going home to my parent's farm on the weekend to see my family especially my nephew Noah and my niece Alyssa. I love working with children because of their positive outlook and the way small things can make them so happy. The main reason I like to work with children is because I love to play with them and get messy! I am just a big kid at heart, and I am excited about the opportunity to work (and have fun!) with your children!

My name is Jenny. I am in my first semester as a Graduate student working towards certification and masters in Elementary Education at Mizzou. I received my undergraduate degree in Agriculture Education with an emphasis in Leadership in December of 2007, only to discover that my true passion was working with kids. I enjoy young children, because of their care-free attitudes and because it is so interesting to watch their development as they learn new thing.

My name is Robin and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Missouri-Columbia. My major is early childhood and elementary education. I chose to head in this path due to my love for children. I am one of the oldest of 19 grandchildren thus I have grown up babysitting younger children and enjoyed every bit of it. My favorite part about children is how open their minds are to everything in the world and their characters that are shaping as they grow.

Basic Information

I employ loving, nurturing, assistants, who receive childcare training on a monthly basis. If I need to take time off for any reason, there will be assistants available to care for your child. I will always alert you if I need to be away from home during the day.

My new assistants are Kara, Kristina, Melissa and Robin.

Staff Training

Once hired, each care giver attends monthlly staff meetings and trainings and completes twelve hours of additional training in child development and child care each year.  Parrt of each assistant's training is CPR/First Aid certification.

My name is Kristina and I am 23 years old. I am a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Psychology. I took several child development courses along with several child psychiatry courses while I was in school. I am currently perusing my masters of business administration degree with an emphasis in health management. I adore being around children and love seeing their faces light up and hearing them laugh. They are so full of life and I find it amazing how much they can learn from us as well as how much we can learn from them. I feel this position would be extremely rewarding because you get the opportunity to be a positive influence in their lives.

My name is Melissa and I am currently attending the University of Missouri and I am pursuing a Communication Science Disorders degree. I graduate in May 2009 and plan on going to graduate school to obtain my masters. I love working and being around children because so many little things to me, are so amazing to them. They are just so excited about what they can do or what they're learning. Working with children is something I have always wanted to do and this experience would not only personally mean so much to me but it would also benefit the children that I will be working with!

Let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

Have a great day!
